The weekend will be hosted by Jagged Globe Head of Operations, Matt Parkes and IFMGA British Mountain Guide, Roger Mear. Matt looks after operations at Jagged Globe and is extremely familiar with the Alps and our courses, having visited all of our Alpine bases. In 2008 he spent a week climbing on our Oberland 4,000ers course. Matt is familiar with the latest equipment available and its suitability for the various courses, so he will be on hand to help with this area in particular. Roger Mear is one of the UK's most highly respected mountaineers, guides and polar travellers. Roger has been climbing for nearly forty years, been a Guide since 1986 and has been involved with Jagged Globe Alpine Courses since their inception. His impressive Alpine CV includes British First Ascents of routes such as the American Direct on the Dru, and a winter ascent of the North Face of the Eiger. In the Greater Ranges, Roger put these skills to good use in the '80s and '90s with an impressive number of climbs, including the first British ascent of Nanga Parbat and ascents of Cho Oyu and Everest, as a leader of Jagged Globe teams.
