A pure off piste week with a blend of instruction and exciting descents designed to help you perfect your technique. We are strategically based in Bourg D'Oisans, which gives us access to the lift systems of La Grave, Les Deux Alpes and L'Alpe D'Huez, giving the week a 'ski safari' feel to it. We will also use skins on several days, so you will need skis with a touring bindings.

The course will stay at Eric and Pauline's lovely Chambre de Hôte, a family run gîte that is a delight to return to each day, when the log stove welcomes us back and Pauline's excellent meals set us up for the next day's adventures. So that we can ski a wide variety of terrain, BASI instructor, Simon Christy will be accompanied by a Jagged Globe IFMGA Guide, Jim Kerr.

Avalanche Awareness and Risk

As soon as we head off-piste we need to be aware of avalanche risks, although some areas close to the resort may be controlled. Yours coaches/guides are all well versed in avalanche avoidance and will educate you in safety matters and rescue procedures. However, by its very nature, off-piste skiing is a risky business, not just because of avalanche danger, but also from the danger posed by hidden rocks, streams, small cliffs or tree branches, not to mention other skiers.
