Muztag Ata Team - On the Mountain
News from Chris Groves, the expedition leader, is that the team arrived in Kyrgyzstan and crossed the border into China, without incident. They met Sharif, en route to base camp, and his team of high aptitude porters (HAPS). They had nipped out from their homes in northern Pakistan before the monsoon cut through the Karakoram Highway. Yesterday, the team took a trip to Camp One. Today, they're back down in base camp having hit a high point of 5,650 metres, showered and ready for more climbing tomorrow!
