Saturday to Saturday, 6 full days skiing

Introduction

Join us in the Gran Paradiso National Park for some superb ski touring, culminating in the ascent of Gran Paradiso (4,061m), the highest mountain entirely within Italy. This week offers wonderful skiing in one of the most beautiful areas of the Alps - a tour for connoisseurs. The ski touring combined with the tremendous Italian welcome and delicious food in the huts will make this a ski holiday to remember.

The plan for the week is to spend three nights in the Benevelo Hut, skiing summits over 3,000m before descending to Chanavey in the middle of the week. The ascent of Gran Paradiso is made from the Chabod hut and is a superb outing. It typically involves intricate route finding up the glacier and some 'airy' skinning. You stash your skis for the final climb to the summit, which is guarded by a rocky step. The tour begins and ends in Chamonix, France.

Start point: Chamonix La Chaumière Mountain Lodge
