The most attainable 8,000m peak in the Karakoram, an ideal objective for a first 8,000er

Introduction

Gasherbrum II is the safest and 'easiest' of the Karakoram 8,000m peaks. It is an ideal choice for suitably experienced climbers wishing to attempt their first 8,000m peak. The route offers straightforward climbing in a superb and dramatic location. Jagged Globe has organised more expeditions to this peak than any other Western operator.

Join us on Gasherbrum II

  • Avoid the crowds on the busy 8,000ers such as Manaslu and Broad Peak.
  • Jagged Globe 8000m peak expedition leader: 2025 TBC
  • A high level of support from Nepalese Climbing Sherpas and High Altitude Porters - see PDF for more details.
  • We have planned and led 7 previous expeditions to Gasherbrum II, most recently in 2022 and 2023.
  • Oxygen Option (£3,000) and Personal High Altitude Porter Option (£3,000). Both for an additional £5,800.

Tailor-made option

We can organise this expedition on a ‘tailor-made’ private basis for groups of friends, families, clubs, charities or any other group. Depending on your mountaineering experience, you may want a Jagged Globe leader or go ‘self-led’ with the assistance of local guides. The cost of going private can be surprisingly reasonable, particularly if you take the self-led option. Please contact us to discuss the itinerary and your preferred dates. We will then send you a quote, with no obligation.

Insurance

You will need a travel insurance policy that caters for the activities you will undertake on your trip with Jagged Globe. It is a requirement of our booking conditions that you have such a policy. For a list of insurers who specialise in mountaineering, trekking and skiing, please see our Travel Insurance page »
