Vinson team back at Union Glacier

Robert Anderson and team are back at Union Glacier after their climb of Vinson. They hope to fly out to Punta Arenas this evening. The team are in good spirits, despite not being able do a new route. Robert said that it wasn't viable at all - they headed up to look at various lines, but there was too much avalanche danger. Instead, they summited in an 18-hour day in temperatures of -30c, with 15mph winds. There were cloud lower down, but it cleared and they had perfect visibility up high. Robert commented that "it was just amazing to be back in Antarctica, we have some incredible photos which we'll email from Punta".
