Turkey's snow capped Mount Ararat is located in the far north east of the country and is regularly climbed by those without mountaineering experience. At 5,137m it is important to take time to acclimatise, which we do by climbing Mount Artos (3,550m), before travelling to Ararat.

In Turkey you can climb Mount Ararat following an acclimatisation trek in the Taurus Mountains.
If you would like to trek the famous Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, or cross the Oberland, these glaciated treks are available in our Alpine Courses section:
The Haute Route
The Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route is one of the world's great mountaineering journeys. It traverses the crest of the Western Alps and passes through some of the most stunning mountain scenery in Europe. The Haute Route is the easiest of our courses in the Alps, and is suitable for fit walkers, as well as those with some previous winter or alpine experience. Training in ice axe and crampon use and safe glacier travel is taught on the first day of the course, as we will be walking on glaciers for much of the seven days that we spend in the mountains.
Oberland Traverse
This glaciated trek is a more remote companion to the classic Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route. The tour is a journey across the Bernese Oberland from West to East, crossing high passes and staying in some rarely visited huts along the way.
