The Cold RegionsIntroduction
Jagged Globe has been organising ‘Adventure Ski’ trips since the early 1990’s. So far we have skied on all Seven Continents and in 23 different countries. The aim of our Adventure Ski programme is to mix the culture of travelling to interesting destinations, with ski touring away from the lifts. Each year we change our programme, offering shorter trips closer to home, alongside some major expeditions, to the Polar Regions or to the heart of Asia. Travel and accommodation and the level of comfort can vary considerably. In Japan, you can expect a culinary experience almost as good as the skiing. In Greenland, the food is likely to be less exciting, though the vastness of the landscape makes up for it. Each trip has a detailed itinerary, though by their very nature, our Adventure Ski trips will attract those who are flexible and value an adventure over guaranteed summits or snow.
Our Adventure Ski trips are led by a mix of IFMGA Guides and expedition leaders who are experienced ski mountaineers. Our key Guides are Jim Blyth (IFMGA) and Jim Kerr (IFMGA), who are supported by additional mountain guides.
