Sailing and skiing in Northern Norway

Introduction

This trip gives six days wilderness skiing in the Finnmark area of northern Norway from the comfort of the beautifully restored Goxsheim. She is well equipped with 4 cabins for 8 skiers and has sufficient hot water for a basin wash every day plus a couple of showers during our week. Food is plentiful and excellent. Well-fed and rested we should be on top form to make the most of skiing some of the many excellent summits and slopes surrounding Alta fjord.

Working with Jim on the mountain is IFMGA guide Espen Nordhal, who is a local expert (and author of the skiing guidebook to Lyngen). We’re almost guaranteed to have the place to ourselves and with 24 hour daylight our ski legs should be tired at the end of the week.

Tailor-made option

What the price includes

Should there be large fluctuations in currency exchange rates in coming months the price of this trip could be less or more than stated and will be fixed two months prior to departure.

Insurance

You will need a travel insurance policy that caters for the activities you will undertake on your trip with Jagged Globe. It is a requirement of our booking conditions that you have such a policy. Itinerary

Here is an outline itinerary for this trip.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1:	Fly to Alta Arrive mid-afternoon. We have a 2 ½ hour taxi journey to the little village of Oksfjord where board the Goxsheim and set off.
Day 2 - 7:	Day touring with light packs The summits are up to a maximum of 1,200m in height so we plan to ski 800 – 1,600m each day.
Day 8:	Return to Alta and fly home.
