A short expedition to climb a 6,000m peak in the Karakoram

Introduction

Following expeditions in 2022, 2024 and 2025 we are returning to Khosar Gang for a fourth time in 2026. This climb has been added to the Jagged Globe programme in response to requests for shorter duration climbing expeditions to Himalayan peaks.

Some of the wildest and most dramatic landscapes on earth are found in the vast, rugged Karakoram Range, situated in Northern Pakistan. Remote and spectacular, the icy peaks and vast glaciers of the Karakoram offer unparalleled opportunities for adventurous trekking and mountaineering.

Unlike most Karakoram peaks Khosar Gang has a Base Camp that can be reached quickly and easily. This enables us to offer a 16 day UK to UK itinerary with a total of 11 days spent trekking or climbing the peak.

Join us on Khosar Gang

  • Climb a 6,000m peak in 2-weeks.
  • Previous expeditions in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
  • Quick Tourist Visa application (24 hours turnaround time).
  • Jagged Globe is a fully bonded tour operator/ATOL protected.

Experience Required

To join the Jagged Globe Khosar Gang expedition you need:

  • A good standard of fitness gained from regular mountain walking. Those who have ticked off a dozen or so Munros in winter conditions would be particularly suited to this type of expedition.
  • Previous experience of remote camping and to have slept at no lower than 4,000m either in the Alps or the Greater Ranges.
  • Previous experience of climbing 4,000 - 5,000m peaks (possibly in the Alps, South America, or Himalayas).
  • Experience of using an ice axe and crampons on snow and ice.

It would be helpful to have:

  • Experience of using fixed ropes for ascent and descent, including use of an ascender, and making multiple abseils / rappels using a figure of 8 device.

Additional Information

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the expedition or your suitability for it, please phone +44 (0)114 276 3322 or contact us.

The Trek Leader and our local agent will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but an easy going nature will be an asset!
