Introduction

2026 Dates tbc

With 5 days of off piste guiding and coaching we will aim to explore the best steep descents of the Vanoise area, from the classic to the hidden gem, with coaching 'on-the-go' as needed. Previous years' highlights include the North face of Bellecote, North couloir of the Grand Perron, NE couloir of the Cheval Noir and of course the incredible Breche Portetta.

This week will feature a mix of 'gravity-assisted' skiing as well as skinning to access the best descents.

Simon Christy (BASI) will instruct on the course.

Course base: Brides-les-Bains in the 3 Valleys

Outline Programme

Day 1:Transfer to course base. Overnight hotel.
Day 2-6:Intensive off piste instruction and ski workshops. Be prepared to have a lot of fun and to work hard. Travel home after skiing on Friday. If you would like us to book you an additional hotel night, please let us know.

Pre-Course Skiing Ability

Grade: 11B [ Ski Grading ]
If you are confident in all conditions off piste and want to take your skiing to the next level then look no further! Steeper, deeper, more adrenaline; we’ll show you how to tackle the steeps, get the face shots and stick the drops.

Avalanche Awareness and Risk

As soon as you head off piste, you need to be aware of avalanche risks, although some areas close to the resort may be controlled. Your coaches/guides are all well versed in avalanche avoidance and will educate you in safety matters and rescue procedures. However, by its very nature, off piste skiing is a risky business, not just because of avalanche danger, but also from the danger posed by hidden rocks, streams, small cliffs or tree branches, not to mention other skiers.
