Introduction

Armenia is a beautiful country in a tough neigbourhood. There are many problems, but the friendly people give visitors a great welcome. With much of interest and hardly a tourist in sight, Armenia is a perfect destination for adventurous skiers.

Guide, Jim Blyth first visited in 2011 when visas were required and the old Zvarnots airport, which resembled a UFO, was still in use. The whole experience felt very Soviet. The trip was for many years the wettest he had ever done but he did learn when not to go! Jim returned in the month of May and that time the weather was lovely and the spring skiing spot on. In 2025 we are going for cold snow earlier in the season.
