NEW Pisco and Chopicalqui

Next summer we are organising a 20-day expedition to climb Nevado Pisco (5,752m) and Chopicalqui (6,345m) in Peru's Cordillera Blanca. Pisco is a mountain we have climbed many times before and will serve as excellent acclimatisation, prior to attempting Chopicalqui, which is located just to its south. Jagged Globe Head of Operations, Ed Chard, has climbed Chopicalqui, which is one of the most popular 6,000m peaks in the range. He describes the normal route via the south west ridge as a long snow climb, with some steep ice steps along the way, the steepest of which is often just below the summit. This expedition is therefore suitable for those with Scottish grade III, Alpine AD experience. You can also extend the trip by 10 days, stay on and climb Alpamayo for an action-packed full month of climbing.
