Gasherbrum II update

Our team are all safe and sound at Gasherbrum Base Camp (5,023m). They had a 20Km walk yesterday up the final section of the Baltoro Glacier from Concordia. They’re now camped atop pinnacles along the glacial moraine, with camps well separated, a rare and welcome experience for an 8,000m base camp! With a few days of snow forecast they’re taking the opportunity to slowly unpack and prepare for the mountains while our 80 mule loads of food and equipment get sorted. The plan is to have a puja ceremony with their Sherpas on Sunday and then they’ll be moving onto the mountain early next week.
