In Memory: Carlos Escobar

On 8 May 2009, Carlos Escobar passed away at home in Bolivia. He had been diagnosed with cancer last November. Carlos had worked with Jagged Globe as our agent and Head Guide in Bolivia since 1999. Over the past 10 years, hundreds of climbers were fortunate enough to be shown the wonderful mountains of the Cordillera Real by Carlos and his team of guides. Carlos also led expeditions of us further afield and in 2006, summited Everest as a leader on our expedition. Our thoughts are with Carlos' wife, Grissel, and his family and friends in Bolivia, where Carlos was much loved and respected within the mountaineering community.
