Mount Kenya team summit Nelion and Batian

Leader, Andy Chapman, has emailed from Nairobi to say that he, Dean and John have had a very successful trip to Mt Kenya. On 3 January they climbed 19 pitches to the summit of Nelion, where they slept the night quite well outside Howell's Hut (this tiny hut can only fit 4 climbers - see photo from last year, and was full!). On 4 January they crossed the 'Gates of Mist' to reach Bation (5,199m). After many abseils, they arrived back at Austrian Hut at 5pm in good weather. Thee walk out went without any hitches and they arrived back in Nairobi at the weekend. John has headed off to Kilimanjaro, whilst Dean and Andy are on their way home.
