Alpine Techniques - Level 2 report

Andy Owen has sent up this update:

"This week in Chamonix gave us yet another week of very mixed weather, luckily Chamonix is the place to be in dodgy conditions and we made full use of all the various bad weather locations. The lads on Alpine Techniques Level 2 got through plenty of instruction on ropework, cheating tricks and crevasse rescue. They had a couple of days up high climbing mixed ridges in nasty weather and of course got the chance to build their rock skills, the cornerstone of mountaineering. Friday gave us a day of good weather and having put all the skills in place, it was time to let the lads fly solo on the traverse of the Aiguille Crochues (see photo). They did a good job, moving with speed and efficiency, a pleasure to watch."
