Peak Lenin team on way home

Our Peak Lenin team have arrived safely in Osh, having had a good meal and some beers in the yurts at base camp last night. Robert said that they had 3 clear days of weather during their entire time at base camp, with local guide, Andre commenting that he'd never known such a period of bad weather in 13 years of guiding on Peak Lenin.

The team made a summit attempt on 4 August, leaving camp 3 at 4am, but the weather was storming all day, despite what had been a good forecast. Robert said the weather seemed to be "hyper localised" and after 8-9 hours they decided to turn round at around 6,900m. "It is a long, long ridge" said Robert, and he was concerned about getting everyone back down safely in poor visibility.

So, whilst ultimately not successful in reaching the summit and no doubt frustrating due to the unusually poor weather, the team have made it back safe and sound and will be flying home tomorrow. Until the next adventure.
