NEW Climb Ausangate Peru

Ausangate is located in the Cordillera Vilcanota, in Southern Peru. It is reached by flying from Lima to Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire, then trekking in from the village of Tinke. Ausangate is the highest peak in a range that sees far fewer visitors than the more popular Cordillera Blanca in the north of the country. Because of this, the area feels a lot more adventurous and may appeal to those looking for an interesting 6,000m peak away from the crowds. After the climb we trek out and view the famous 'Rainbow Mountain'. If you've got a month, you can extend the expedition and climb either Alpamayo or Chopicalqui in the Northern Cordillera Blanca.
