We have updated our itinerary for Makalu Base Camp and extended the trek by one day, to provide more time and flexibility once you arrive at Makalu. The Trek PDF has been completely re-written. This is an incredibly varied tea house trek through Makalu Barun National Park to the base of the world's 5th highest mountain. It's an area of outstanding natural beauty, recognised internationally for the diversity of its flora and fauna. Due to its relative inaccessibility, this region is little-known to would-be trekkers heading to Nepal. We have a guaranteed departure in October 2024.
