Mount Kazbek - 1 place left

Join leader, David Hamilton and team on Mount Kazbek, Georgia this coming August. There is 1 place remaining on the expedition (Dates: 1 - 12 August 2026). Mount Kazbek is a 5,047m peak located on the border between Russia and Georgia in the Caucasus Mountains. It is an attractive mountain, which you climb on this expedition via the most popular route from Georgia to the south. This is a culturally interesting mountaineering trip with an exploratory feel to it. To join the expedition you need previous camping experience, Grade 2 scrambling experience and to have climbed Scottish II or Alpine PD routes. Most of the climb you will be moving together as roped teams. A short section of fixed rope is normally placed just below the summit on a section that can be icy (25-30 degree slopes), so this will necessitate the use of a jumar. Team members will need to carry some of their own gear to Betlemi Hut, so you can expect to carry a pack weighing approximately 10Kg.
