Success on Mentok I (6,151m)

Update from Chris Allewell and our Lungser Kangri team (who went to Mentok in lieu of permits being made available for LK):

"The team has just arrived back in Delhi after an eventful 48 hours travel from Karzok.

On Monday 3 August, myself and 3 team members - Louisa, Hemming and Knut left Mentok 1 BC (5,300m) at 0200 and succeeded in reaching the summit (6,151m) via a combination of "backside gully" and E ridge by 0830. Snow conditions were challenging, after frequent snow and rain over the last two weeks and unfortunately the summit was in partial cloud, denying us the view across the Himalaya and into China.

Everyone is fit and well and despite the many alterations to the itinerary due to the weather have thoroughly enjoyed themselves".
